Are you a Prophet in the Philippines for Someone in the Wilderness?

You may be a prophet. Don't laugh or think it's something absurd. Isaiah thought he couldn't make it as a real prophet of God. He felt dirty, especially his lips. He shouted, "Woe is me!" That's something seriously terrible to say about yourself. But God chose him anyway. HE chose him, cleansed him and told Isaiah about HIS plan but it was with a question. "Who shall I send?" After choosing you and prepping you up, HE still asks you if you want in.

GOD will choose you but you have to desire to be in.

Often, people GOD chooses stop at the cleansing part. They repent, surrender their lives to Jesus, and become active in church ministry. Their spiritual sensitivity to GOD stops there and they fail to discern the other things GOD is telling them. They can't (or won't) step up their spiritual frequencies because of their satisfaction to reach what traditional churches say is the "peak" of Christian life--church work. Which is not. Though important and we must all do church works and missions, these are not the "peak." Like life, our jobs or businesses--our careers, livelihood and incomes--are not the "peak" in life.

The peak in our spiritual life is experiencing the mountain top level of GOD's Presence. The grassroot level is GOD, the peak is GOD. HE is the Alpha and Omega. HE is everything. "Christ is all and is in all." When you get this, you may be called as a prophet to the Philippines. All you need to do is tell GOD you want in. "Here am I, send me," as Isaiah said.

But Isaiah Heard GOD

You may ask, "But Isaiah heard GOD's audible voice." GOD speaks to men in various ways, not just audibly. All true sons and daughters of GOD hear HIS voice. All Jesus' sheep hear HIS voice. Only GOD's true children hear HIS voice. Nonbelievers read HIS words in the bible, study it, and feel or "hear" the Holy Spirit's conviction about sin but not GOD's voice about ministry and direction.

Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” [John 8.47]

Aside from HIS Word and audible voice, and his true servants (beware of fake ones), God also speaks in whispers and signs, through nature and the environs, visions, dreams, circumstances, and impressions, to name a few. He even speaks through books we read and secular courses we learn from. I have a few audible experiences but mostly impressions from GOD. This was how GOD mostly revealed to the prophets who wrote the bible.

For the prophecy came not in olden times by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. [2 Peter 1.21]

Since it's a timeless bible doctrine that GOD never changes, HE still does it through heart impressions. The Holy Spirit "moves" us by inspiration, discernment, emotion, or mind enlightenment or insights, leading us to a course of action or particular line of speech. He directs our spiritual wavelength to flow with HIS.

Signs that you are called as a prophet:

  1. You are so aware of your sorry state.
  2. You are aware of the sorry state of your surroundings, like your church.
  3. You desperately desire to hear from GOD but you're unsure if HE will talk to you.
  4. You hunger for God's "spoken" Word, not just written Word.
  5. You seek HIS face though you know you're unworthy.
  6. You want to see HIM.
  7. You want HIM to use you in humble ways (not in spectacular ways).
When you feel deeply unworthy but you also deeply and desperately want GOD in a very real way in your life, HE must be up to something. Things don't just happen. HE makes things happen, and for a reason. You may be appointed as a prophet. This may sound ridiculous to you, being called as a "prophet," and maybe you don't believe prophets are still called today, but just consider, even for a while, that you may be called as one.

Types of prophets:

There are big-time prophets, like those called to the nations, regions, or to a particular nation or people. There are also minor prophets called to prophesy to cities or towns. But GOD also calls individuals to release a Word or message to an individual or group for a season or for a single time, like Oded. GOD called him for a specific message for a specific people, which was the army of Israel.

9 But a prophet of the Lord named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army when it returned to Samaria. He said to them, “Because the Lord, the God of your ancestors, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches to heaven. 10 And now you intend to make the men and women of Judah and Jerusalem your slaves. But aren’t you also guilty of sins against the Lord your God? 11 Now listen to me! Send back your fellow Israelites you have taken as prisoners, for the Lord’s fierce anger rests on you.” [2 Chronicles 28]

After this, there is no record in the bible that Oded was given another mission. GOD also directed Ananias to prophesy to Paul for one time, and we never heard from Ananias again. These are prophets sent by GOD to deliver a specific message to a specific individual or group. YOU may be this kind of a prophet. A prophet sent to someone in a wilderness for a one time or two mission. A lot of people have something to say to someone in trouble or needing guidance, but a prophesy from GOD given to a servant sent to release HIS Word to the afflicted is a different story altogether.

So, think about it and ask GOD is you have the signs mentioned above. Are you a prophet in the Philippines sent by GOD to someone who needs a timely spoken Word amid his wilderness experience?
